So, as you guys may already know, I have my FIRST K-CONCERT EVER coming up next week! I know a few things, like there's no opening act and everybody brings a lightstick, but what else is there to know?

according to stray kids, you should bring these items to a kpop concert:
lightstick, mask (one extra), sanitizer, water, and your love
:sanapray:
I'll definitely be bringing my lightstick (if I can find batteries lol)!

Nice!

Do you have assigned seats, or is it GA (General Admission)?

Also, see if some fansites are handing out little banners that fans can hold up during the concert.

Oh, good. So you don't have to get in line early.
unless there's a possibility of meeting the boys - is there?

Before the concert? No, that's unlikely to happen.

What can happen sometimes is that people can catch the group after the concert if they wait at the venue's exit. But that really depends on the venue, and how long the group stays inside (after a concert) before heading out.

i would get there early just to wander around if its a venue that supports that.
There will likely be folks doing dance covers, and fun stuff like that.
PPl handing out banners and chant guides.

Korean concerts i have been to have stuff sales outside the venue where American shows had them inside.

and lol they usually sell batteries at the event just in case you did forget.

i pretty much hate American shows over Korea because of how paranoid they are about bags or something to carry all the swag you buy at the event.
I wore aback pack to a Chicago show since i walked from the hotel ect and it was a crazy deal.
so i just stopped buying stuff at American shows if they want to be jerks.

This. Banners and chant guides are true fandom stuff. I would pick those over merch as mementos of the concert.

Here's a banner I got in 2019.

If you are alone and do not mind wandering maybe an hour. with friends longer is possible .
Especially if the weather is nice.
Really the vibe at a kpop show is different form most concerts i have been to.
especially in the west its a fun chance to meet fellow kpop fans.
Some times individual fan clubs will have stuff.
there were times i saw card swapping areas. but that is back to stuff you gotta carry to the show hassle.
see if you can find some fandom type social media that may give you a guide of planed events.

oh and i really only waited for the acts to leave in Korea where its much more chill.

I agree.

At non-Kpop (i.e., Western artist) concerts in the US, the concertgoers are just focused on getting to their seats or their ticketed areas. And maybe getting wine, beer or hotdogs, depending on the genre of the artist.

Kpop concerts have this "OMG, there are actually other people like me, we're all in this fandom" vibe that's really fun. You can talk about biases, cringey moments, etc. and the people around you will nod and understand.
