It didn't taste like it had noodles in it. I haven't really had it since I lived where I used to and that was in a rural area. I don't count the soup I get from fast food Chinese chains like Panda Express because a lot of the food tend to be less authentic. But where I first had Egg Drop Soup was a Chinese restaurant that was local.

So its all egg soup n tats it.

Im just unfamiliar with such a dish, tho i recognised egg drop soup from somewhere within vestiges of my memory. My experience/knowledge is more local/untraveled (except briefly) n book knowledge(nowadays wikipedia/youtube/google included) rather than street smart.

Its fascinating to learn of normal dishes/food u can get in chinese restaurants overseas (n the different ranges of high class to low end chinese joints<inc restaurznt/takeout> ooh just rmbrd an episode of i think anthony bourdain i watched long ago where he was at a chinese restaurant in africa maybe or iv confused myself with another thing where someone was 'treasure hunting'(for lack of better term) really old time chinese restaurants , outside asia (and/or places without significant <as in not many> asian population - ard 2000s/2010s).

There was also this soup I had in this Thai restaurant that was really small that I had when I first moved to a metropolitan area. The entire restaurant had like maybe 6 tables. It was a Hot and Spicy type soup.

But a lot of things where I used to live were misnomers. Like Crab Rangoon were called Wontons there. lol

Most likely tomyam soup or its equivalent, a sour spicy soup. Yummy, i love it but again hvnt had any in yrs.

But a lot of things where I used to live were misnomers. Like Crab Rangoon were called Wontons there. lol

Its first time iv ever heard of Crab Rangoons, it seems to be a mostly or wholly American creation. Its crab paste filling in wonton skin tats deep fried, so calling it a wonton isnt fully inaccurate.

idk tho, it looks quite yummy to eat with the 4 pointed star shape. It might be a good dim sum dish if it were to be introduced as such(if it hasnt already been done).

Usually chinese joints/asian customers prefer (to eat/use) prawn as ingredient instead of crab so maybe tats why its not caught on elsewhere. Just my opinion tho, i might be totally wrong abt crab rangoons from just 5 minures googling!!
