So this girl who's a family friend came back from the beach and looks in the living room mirror and is like, "I have the worst body. I totally need to get my bikini body back."

My response was: "Well... Since you've gained weight your breasts have gotten bigger..."

I knew she was fishing for a compliment with the "my body looks bad" and I gave the one she wasn't looking for, but... that had to be the worst attempt to fish for a compliment that I'd ever seen. Fishing for compliments often makes people look needy and insecure. Yeah, best not to do that.

i hate when people say self-deprecating things around others just because they want the other person to deny and compliment them instead... like it makes me so uncomfortable when i can be having a normal conversation and the person suddenly drops a "ughhhh i could never look good in this piece of clothing i'm so worthless and ugly" like what am i supposed to say?

Honestly. That situation is cringe. What you want to say is... "Black is slimming. Get a girdle. And go on a diet... or else stop complaining." But if you say what you want to say they may start crying so you just nod. lol
