It's so typical now for ifans to often feel outraged that companies keep debuting 13/14/15/16 year olds in groups. Yet while there's been a ton of discussion on it, and the majority agree that it is not good for the mental health/safety of these kids, in the end they will do absolutely nothing about it. When idols get into CA controversies and other racial issues, ifans are the first to mass mail companies to have the idols get educated. Or when companies mistreat certain group, they will buy trucks and things like that. But would ifans ever do some concerted efforts to boycott the debuting of young idols? Personally, I've never heard of it happening. So it seems like just an eternal pity party, like watching an accident but not even calling the ambulance. Like they say, put your money where your mouth is.

The thing is, people getting shocked at 13-14 year olds debuting in Kpop probably haven't been around for a long time, debuting at that age has always been a thing, and has always happened often, as soon as BoA's debut era and earlier. And it might seem like the kids are at risk but these same kids will grow up fast and for the most part lose motivation for working as a group in their mid 20s. Their groups at best will comeback every1-2years, if not disbanded. Take senior groups as an example. Once they disband, the younger members are usually in their early 20s. Shocking? No, it's something the members decide on after they gain more power as seniors. So after all, I do realize the logic.

this is why i am side eyeing those who watched the my teenage girl show like why are you supporting the dude who called produce 101 "healthy porn"?? but at the end of the day something being common doesn't mean it's right. there's just the outrage and nothing else because it's not like the fans can organise a truck with "MAKE THIS IDOL GO BACK TO SCHOOL" or something.

People can be outraged all they want but it really comes down to the parents. If the parents allow it then who are we to say anything?

I'm honestly not for or against it. I just know I have no say whatsoever cause it's not my kid.

+1 Honestly, the older I get the less of a f**k I give about people being outraged. It reminds me of the society of saints argument.. Even in a society where everyone acts properly, there still is going to be problems because the minor slips that would occur would be considered high crimes. The outrage about age of idols training and really anything an idol does that doesn't jive with one's morals is a waste of time and at times aggravating.

When people figured out that doing a soliloquy of moral superiority makes them feel just as good as taking positive action, they have ran away with it. Social media and the internet exacerbated it. There might be some element of concern but as long as they can go, "oh look at me, I CARE", that in itself becomes the true end goal.

Nothing will change because kids are trendy nowadays like how many TikTok stars are kids? There's teenage stars who opened OnlyFans when they became legal and instantly made millions like Belle Delphine so don't expect it to change anytime soon
