Because I wanted to drive down to where I live for cheer practice. I get home and find out it was cancelled. I could have spend more time with my gf or woken up later if I knew this ahead of time

They did but ig they must have found out later in the day, thats what I'm assuming, and I dont check my texts when driving so I didnt find out until hours later

No, but they didn’t reach me individually, they put it in the group chat. I live here though so I don’t think they expected anyone to need to make a long drive to reach the gym since we all live close to it.

I see. Well, if the person who sent the alert did not get a reply from you or anyone else, they still should have called instead as common courtesy to make sure you and others were aware about cancellations. Isn't that how it works or should work? I'm just assuming.

They usually don’t do that, I’ve never heard of it at least. It was sent early enough in the day that I think anyone would read it before practice, which starts quite late.
