Now I have listened to all of MonstaX's Korean title tracks.
I listened to them in order of release as well.
So this is my official rank-feel free to say if you agree or disagree.
Also, feel free to leave your own opinions as well.
But please be respectful of each other and me.
MonstaX's TITLE TRACK RANKING (Chirpsy):
1. Beautiful Liar- (9/10)
[Good instrumental-especially the intro. I've listened to this a couple of times recently since it just dropped.
I originally was not a big fan but it's grown on me. It's like addictively chill. Plus they aren't killing their voices for it.]
2. All in- (9/10)
[The verses are catchy. I think this song is really pretty and shows off their vocals nicely. Good raps too.
The muffled instrumental though is just ok.]
3. Trespass- (8/10)
[Hot out the gate with this debut. This song is pretty catchy and upbeat. Energetic and fun to listen to.
A strong debut in all honesty.]
4. Love- (8/10)
[They nursed the vocals a bit more here which is good because they were really suffering before this release.
The verses are nice and the same with the instrumental. Don't like the chorus though.]
5. Rush Hour- (8/10)
[The vocals have suffered a lot over the years BUT this is so much better than the previous songs. It's catchy and the raps are
back to being good.]
6. Beautiful- (7/10)
[This song is pretty good. The chorus is lacking something for me but it overall is not bad. Don't care for the instrumental.
The raps though are amazing here.]
7. Jealousy- (6.5/10)
[I know I am going to get killed for this opinion but I've never understood the love for this song. I really do not care for the chorus.
I can maybe see why others would like it but I hate it. Not bad though in general just not for me.]
8. Fighter- (6/10)
[I really enjoy the instrumental for this song. The chorus is just ok. The instrumental is really the best part of this song.
The rest of the song is a little catchy but just ok.]
9. Rush- (6/10)
[I like the verses but am not a fan of the chorus or the instrumental. Also the song drags for too long, but not horrible.]
10. Shine Forever- (5/10)
[The chorus is pretty good. The verses though are a bit boring. Sometimes the instrumentals for their songs are
too intense for the actual song and that is the case with this one. It overpowers it.]
11. Love Killa- (4/10)
[The chorus is not my thing. The starting rap also doesn't do much for me which is unusual since I typically like their raps.
I can maybe see why some might find it catchy but once again, not for me.]
12. Dramarama- (4/10)
[I HATE THIS CHORUS-The "dramarama llama a hey"...why? But the raps based around the title are really good.
But that's the only part I like of this song.]
13. Hero- (4/10)
[Don't like the chorus or the instrumental. The verses are also not amazing. The raps are good.
The vocals failed in this song.]
14. Alligator- (2/10)
[I hate all the strained notes that are sprinkled throughout this song. It hurts my throat. Also once again, Jooheon & IM saving this song.]
15. Fantasia- (2/10)
[I hate the instrumental already. The only good part of the chorus was the "Fantasia" part.]
16. Gambler- (2/10)
[The vocals are not it. The instrumental is not bad but don't love it. The chorus is forgettable.]
17. Shoot Out- (1/10)
[NOISE NOISE NOISE. This song is so bad. The chorus makes me want to rip my ears out.]
18. Follow- (1/10)
[N-O-P-E.]
So Monsta X's vocal line has slowly been deteriorating and
doing this listen-through was actually really sad in that regard.
But the rappers held their own and really carried throughout this listen-through.
I wish I had better things to say but Monsta X has never really impressed me music-wise.
I tried to be nice with some of the ratings.
So hopefully this isn't too harsh.
I'm glad with Beautiful liar they are actually letting the vocalists rest.
