i love how K-pop is slowly getting diverse!IM IN TEARS
FR AND HIS MUSIC IS REALLY GOOD FRi love how K-pop is slowly getting diverse!
Insanity he's awesomeOH MY GOD![]()
sorry guys i’m dead fr i’m not
yes but the majority of his music is in korean, and he is classified as k-pop, both online and selfinteresting
the question is what makes him a kpop idol?
obviously it's not the language since a kpop idol singing in japanese/chinese/english etc is still a kpop idol and vice versa right? just because someone sings in korean doesn't make them a kpop idol correct?
obliviously it's not their ethnicity since lots of japanese and chinese people become kpop idols
interesting point - obviously you seem to be a fan of his and know more about his background and everything so is he in korea? does he have some sorta of connection to korea?yes but the majority of his music is in korean, and he is classified as k-pop, both online and self
if that was the case with, where singing in korean wouldn’t make you a k-pop idol, half of the industry wouldn’t be considered it. i’m confused on why he wouldn’t be considered a k-pop idol?interesting point - obviously you seem to be a fan of his and know more about his background and everything so is he in korea? does he have some sorta of connection to korea?
you say he is classified as kpop by whom though? there's obviously no system of kpop classifications standards by a government or vocational board or whatever
I've had a look at a few of his songs on YT and I can acknowledge that his original music does have korean and my question is - is that the only connection to kpop that some of his songs are in korean?
was he a former trainee? did he study in SK? is he signed to a korean company? does he have korean producers or
I guess my question really is does him singing in korean language make him a kpop idol - an interesting question
that is an interesting point - which is why I asked it since obviously there's not a single definitive answer of what makes a kpop idol a kpop idolif that was the case with, where singing in korean wouldn’t make you a k-pop idol, half of the industry wouldn’t be considered it. i’m confused on why he wouldn’t be considered a k-pop idol?
i think it depends on the audience he mostly caters to.that is an interesting point - which is why I asked it since obviously there's not a single definitive answer of what makes a kpop idol a kpop idol
maybe one of the requirements is singing in korean or (at least partially in korean) but maybe there are others as well (or not...)
the way I put it is merely singing an original song in a particular language doesn't make you an idol of the language of that country - for example there are lots of kpop groups who sing a song or two in japanese even original songs - I would hardly consider them to be jpop no?
there are also idols that sing english songs but that doesn't make them US artists?
a few groups have even done songs in other languages I like Super Junior in spanish and SNSD in chinese but I wouldn't consider them latin artists or Cpop...
and the other thing I'll add is obviously not everyone who sings in korean in korea is an idol - there's lots of other genres of music for example trotists aren't idols per se therefore there is a different between an "idol" and people who are in groups or other soloists but not idols
