I went through (G)I-DLE’s entire discography (and puffed some joints) (1 Viewer)

And here’s what I found out. I went through all of their main songs and b-sides including the League of Legends collab they did and “La ta ta” English version, but NOT including the Japanese versions of already released songs (not going through every song in this post). Spoiler alert: It’s all fantastic.

Shoutout to the balls Soyeon has to have to release something as ambitious as La ta ta as their debut song and also having it work out. Till this day its still one of their best songs.

$$$ is just wild what am I listening to.

Oh My God compared to all of their releases is kinda overrated if you think about it. I actually think its one of those cases where the MV is better than the song.

The combination of Minnie, Miyeon and Yuqi’s voices in some of these songs is the holy trinity of vocals. I mean have you listened to Polaroid? Or Moon? I can listen to them sing all day and die happy.

And because of these vocals, even their slower stuff I enjoy, which is very rare for me, but the vocal line in this group is just again… divine.

Same with Soojin she has a nice voice we need her back.

Can we talk about the pre chorus to Villain Dies? Like I’m actually ascending to heaven whenever I hear it.

I Never Die, I Made and I Burn are pretty much flawless albums.

Soyeon’s best rap verses are actually in their b-side tracks and not in their title tracks.

Their LoL collab songs are bangers why haven’t I heard any of them.

To me their best songs are Hann, Lion and La ta ta. They set the bar so high with those songs.

Which btw love her or hate her, Soyeon can produce music pretty damn well. Everything is clear and cool, some of the sounds in these songs are very well utilized.

I prefer Tomboy over Nxde. Only thing good about Nxde is the chorus (which is basically just La ta ta again).

All of their rap songs are leagues better than a lot of rap songs in general that’s in kpop.

“Want to take a puff of my joint?” from Dark (X-file), why isn’t this iconic yet? What a crazy line to have in a kpop song.

Let Yuqi sing more and let Minnie rap more, their voices are so interesting.

Their discography is crazy good! Totally agree with you that I Never Die is a flawless album. Their solos, their K/DA appearances, their collabs... they just don't release bad content.

I hope 2023 is as good for them as 2022 was!

my fav song is Hwaa - it has a very oriental flavour to it - I can see it being used in a battle scene in a chinese historical or period drama...

yuqi for me - I'm chinese so I'm slightly biased but I like her personality
