I'm good with everything until you get to 1st gen

maybe I should have added an option like "I know everything but first gen"

That's hard to define... I think I'm more familiar with what's going on 4th gen an onward and not so much what's before that besides things my faves have done. Though I can name most popular groups from those periods and a decent amount of songs.

I am mostly invested in my faves, but I keep up with a lot of things... popular releases, i know what's going on with groups I don't stan and can name some members of these groups, I even know about a lot of nugu's I don't stan.

I don't necessarily listen to every release though. But ig I like to know what is up and coming. I follow a few nugu promoter accounts to see what's going on and check out things that look interesting.

oh I'm curious, which option did you end up chosing? It could be second or third

I know a lot about NCT and EXO but am hard pressed to even tell you the names of people in Twice 😂

just listen to this song 10 times and the names will be burnt into your memory forever

I have a bunch of knowledge on kpop history spanning from the beginnings to current day. I just don't know much about individual groups from the 90's to the 2010's.

I picked the 2nd option since I know quite a bit about Kpop but I definitely don't know everything and you'd have to be extremely hardcore to do that as some of the 1st Generation stuff is quite hard to get information on

I think the korean music I listen to is pretty wide ranged.

i don't feel right saying i know or acting like i know everything about a very broad subject such as kpop. i think haha

but by 3rd gen i am solely focused on gg i like .

First gen is like the forgotten generation it seems, its really increbily rare to meet anyone that is big on those

I mean, there weren't that many groups then and KPOP is more popular among younger folk than those older. Also, companies did nothing to promote KPOP outside of the region then. There are global hits from 2nd gen and that's when KPOP finally started to get recognized internationally.
