Of course, this research was conducted by american researchers, so it doesn't mean it's the same everywhere in the world. I knew theology field isn't the best paid. Idk about America but in our country a pastor is paid by the chruch, so if the church is small then the pay isnt the best either, that i understand. However i was shocked that fields like psychology and education is paid so much less. The most important time of our developing years, and people who sacrifice themselves for this craft and even risk their safety and lives aren't paid more?

Disclaimer: This is just a study from a New York research team, and it studied the first 5 years after college. Every case is different so i hope this doesn't discourage anyone to follow their dream and passion. I personally think all of these occupations should be more appreciated financially and by the public too!

I have another friend who also works in social services... Tbh both of them work at what they studied, while i dont , i studied languages xD so i think it's case by case

I wish u to achieve ur dream job. Tbh it's very important, especially in rural areas. I am from a 3000 population town and i cant tell how many children were neglectes because we didnt have the resources or the people to help them :(

Yeah and I have seen it firsthand just through feild placements I have had. My heart goes out to those kiddos and I kinda get it cause I was neglected by the school system often

Not surprised at all. Especially education, I think it’s pretty well accepted that teachers are paid very little given the work that they do. My aunts a teacher and she’s so busy whenever school is in session (for them most of the time, they don’t even get decent vacations during the year for their district. Their biggest vacation during the school year is Christmas, followed by I think 2 days off around Easter) some weeks she can’t even find time to call me between dealing with work and family commitments, and she’s not a single mom either. Ofc there exist other jobs that are pretty underpaid, but that ones the most noticeable to me.

Yeah, when we had a worker placed in our school i was already in 8th grade and ready to graduate. How many generations there was before me that could've needed help. I had a classmate who never spoke for years, she wasnt mute, just had communication problems.

There really should have been more help in schools. They should be designed for each child to be able to succeed

I have heard from her students that she is a really good teacher so that might also help her case but it’s more surprising still that they didn’t even consider letting her go.

This is good to know but sadly I want to go into Early Childhood Education but it doesn't pay well for my lifestyle so I'll have to choose something different .

I’m glad she didn’t too. She may complain about teaching related stuff (usually when the administration shoves extra things onto her and she has no choice but to agree because otherwise she knows no one would do it and the student/s would suffer). But I know she enjoys working with the majority of the kids and she says they actually treat her with respect (no the she yells at them into submission kind of respect. Like actual respect) and yeah like I said the students I’ve talked with that had her agreed wholeheartedly that she’s a great teacher
