5SOS is a four-member pop-rock band from Australia. They debuted in 2011, but didn't gain international recognition until 2012 when they opened for One Direction. Their sound was originally pop, comparable to 1D and the Jonas Brothers. But they soon created a more rock sound with their second album, and are considered to be pop-rock. 5SOS, despite their international popularity, is still known as “the biggest band nobody’s ever heard of.”

Old Me: I pretty much agree with what @Pyxidis said on this one. I also loved the instrumentals and it definitely hit hard and had a lot of emotion that goes with it. I haven't heard this song before but I was pretty pleased by it. I feel like the song conveys a good message and is able to help listeners relate to it. The vocals were really good and the lyrics were great as well! In the end, this song was really enjoyable and good! I was very pleased with it! <3
Bad Omens: This is another one of their songs where the lyrics were really good. The song specifies two "bad omens" that he should end the romance: His lover loves somebody else and keeps leaving him for her other man. When he kisses her, she just stares at the ceiling. I feel like they conveyed this message well throughout the song with the lyrics. Their vocals were really good here once again as well and they had good harmony together. The instrumentals here were good here once again and I do like the instrumentals in this song better compared to "Old Me". Even though this song is kind of sad, it doesn't really sound like that if you get what I mean. It doesn't sound very joyful of course but it didn't sound very sad or depressing which was nice because most sad songs are like that so it was good to hear something new. In the end, I really enjoyed this song and I think it was better than "Old Me" in terms of vocals and instrumentals but "Old Me" had more better and meaningful lyrics.
Emotions: To be honest, this was my least favorite out of all of them. I'm not sure what the message of the song was exactly about so that probably could have been conveyed better somehow. The vocals were still good but I do feel like the instrumentals were lacking. It just didn't have the same feeling compared to "Old Me" and "Bad Omens". They still sounded in harmony though and the song was still pretty good. In conclusion, this song was still enjoyable and pleasing but I do feel like there was room for improvement when it comes to the lyrics and instrumentals of the song. It was still really good though! <3

Complete mess: I like the soft tones of this one. It is so calming until I looked at the lyrics. “I learned my lesson when I felt you slip away” - this lyric especially hits hard cause we don’t realize what we have until its gone. This was the first time I heard this but I am so adding this to my playlist. I like the comparison of how the person the song is about makes them complete but also sends them into a complete mess.
Old me: This one is one I already knew but it hits hard. This one is about how the old them made a lot mistakes but it has helped them learn lessons and become the person they are today. The old them showed them a lot of things and they admit to doing things they shouldn’t have - this hits a personal nerve. “I’m constantly reminded of all the compromises by the people from my past who have a hard time letting go” - this line struck a nerve. As for the composition of the song, I love the instrumentals.
Carousel: This was another new song for me as I never got around to checking out their 2022 albumhuge regret. As for this song, another one with deep lyrics. This seems to be a trend in their songs I have noticed. This one compares their life to a circus/carnival. The singer (I think Luke in this case, but correct me if I’m wrong) says he feels like a tiger in the circus ring, and ge also says that his life is like a carousel spinning around. I assume this means that he feels like he is not in control of his life - which I can relate to. This is another one that I am adding to my playlist.
