A lot of people seem to be upset. On one hand we get the Lay we didn't get with the original release but on the other, there's the repack coming up soon so there was no point. They could just include him in the repack. Not to mention, you don't even get to choose which versions you want so you might not even get Lay (which seems to be the main point of this version)... They could have at least let us choose if they were just going to drop it on us like this.
Personally I'm really happy and ready to spend money since I have been saving for all the end of year EXO merch I was expecting but I also only want it for Lay since I already have so much from the rest of the members. And the chances of getting the version I want isn't even that high... :(

Same for me. November in general has been such a crazy month. So many comebacks and SM has also done so many too. Those two and to add Key's and Onew's Solo Debut Albums are also being released soon. So 4 albums for me to buy from SM :D

Yikes and I thought I had it bad with the repack, RV's album and now the limited version.
At least you'll have lots of new merch. It's always exciting going through the albums. For me, placing them on my album shelf after I finish going through them feels so satisfying. *-*

Wow, didn't expect this much shit even from SM. They know how much people yearn for Lay, so doing this instead of including him in the first place is just disgusting. Especially since this isn't even the repackage. This is exactly the reason I'm not giving them any money, no matter how much I love many of their groups. I'm sorry, Lay... T_T

Also I haven't looked to much into the conflict between Korea and China, so why is including Lay in the photobooks, MVs and such seen as ok but actually singing in the songs is a no no? I mean, it sounds a bit weird if China's stance is that they don't want him to have anything to do with kpop.

I think the THAAD issue is much better these days. Both sides have been able to mention each other so it seems to be fine. The only problem with it is public sentiment since politically, the THAAD issue is pretty much over. They (mostly Lay) just needs to watch out for what he says and does because even if politically it's over, the public still is mostly negative towards Koreans and Lay gets hate each time he mentions EXO or anything related to them. He has worked so hard to get where he is now in China, it wouldn't be fair to ask him to sacrifice all that hard work now.

Also, the main reason Lay was excluded from most of the DMUMT album was because of his individual schedule not because of THAAD. He has been really busy so he hasn't been able to do much (if anything) for their comeback. He's not even in the group posters or photobook so it seems like they just took his photos separately on a different day. I'm assuming since his comeback is out of the way now he's had more time.
Hopefully he'll be in the repack too but he wasn't with the boys when they filmed their repack MV so who knows...

Thanks for the info! It's good to hear it's getting somewhat better. Like as you said, he's done so much work to get where he is now, it just breaks my heart to think he has to basically choose sides like this. Well, let's hope the situation gets better so he can soon actually participate in the promotions.

I can agree with that. It does seem like a shameless money grab but my fan heart is still happy to get some Lay merch. The main thing I'm upset about is that we can't choose which version we want T_T And knowing my luck, I won't get the one I want either.

That's seriously not ok, first you gotta hope that you get the right version and even then you're not guaranteed to get Lay's cards, SM whyyyy? Stay strong... T_T
