Also this is SO long for us to be in the limbo of what is going to come afterwards.... And we all know management isn't gonna tell us anything until the last minute

No, just that they won't be assigned into a team any more.... currently there is 4 teams that all perform regularly in the threatre
no idea.... what they will do after there is no more teams... they did not explain that at all

Honestly I am just pissed at AKS's chronic inability to explain shit
They tell us NOTHING

there is two OO48 episodes out already and we still know shit all
They don't explain shit and it's infuriating

I thin they are releasing the 24 survivors at the concert today since teh girls already know.
and then they are an additional 24 more girls joining to get to 48 total contestants.
and i think there are 10 winners.

How will this group operate
Will the members continue to promote with AKB
Will this group be a part of AKB or separate from it
How are the winners determined? Judges? Voting? Both?

well its inconceivable that they will kill the theater. That is the identity of AKS and really the only way non selected members can find fans.

I would have rather a 11th SSK announcement but i think they are terrified it would be sister grop dominated.

Honestly at this point I don't even think it would be sister group dominated... ALL of the 48g has lost most of their big names tbh
But I don't think they are gonna do another SSK, all it would do is highlight how big the gap is in popularity between now and then

Yep
i would guess the winners will still promote with akb for example i would find it hard for at least 2 of Zukki , Yuiyui, Miu and Narumi to not make the group.
That would be a big hit.
I would say out of AKS... kinda similar to iz*one, but less since aki p not doing the music.
If they are tying to replicate the iz*one effect they are off to a bad start, but to be fair there was still massive confusion and speculation v voting/ and group composition until the shows with all contestants aired.

True the sister groups are still selling at about the same rate (ie everyone is off but less than akb). except for ngt ofc.
I would love to see Hinatan again not in that train wreck.

The entire model has succession issues.
and the pandemic just crushed them.

I think they have to consider it sure teh voting will be nowhere near the Rino era numbers.
They have to look at it as almost starting over. The 3 years of pandemic (heck its still ongoing with the mask and yell restriction ) Just sucked so much life/ energy out of the system.
Let the fans pick the group again

Yep it feels like they are flailing.
I get team 8 since in effect they absorbed team 8 into A,K,B, and 4 teams. still sad since i love the prefecture song.
but each team has such identity and history.
i mean team b Oshi. Team K Sasse

Hmm i read some where in my wandering this weekend that it may all stem from a lack of bodies.
Since they are going back to 16 girls on stage at the theater for each show, from the current 8
Saying a show is Team X is going to be a problem with all the teams being so close to 16 and so few research students.

team a is 17 with 1 announced grad.
k 16 with 2
b 16 with 3
4 18

18 total trainees

i am betting they want much more flexibility with full members in shows.
