In 2012, I showed up to work and found a bag of really vibrant purple powder. I picked it up, played with it, and realized my hands were now purple. My boss who was standing their laughed and said I needed to go wash my hands. I did, 4 or 5 times and they were just purple. He said I'd be purple for 2-3 weeks. He explained it was flurazine "dye". When a radioactive tool gets lost down an oil well the well has to be filled with a cement dyed with flurazine so if anyone else happens to drill in to that well they know to abandon the hole they drilled. What I didn't know is that flurazine dye is radioactive... 3 days later I'm flying out to Kentucky to spend some time with my fiance. This was just after 9/11 so everything was super serious as far as air travel. I got stopped, and searched, 4 times in LAX, 2 times in Raleigh North Carolina, and 2 times Louisville Kentucky Air ports. Every time they had to call my boss so he could explain why I was radioactive. The they had to call the EPA and Nuclear regulatory commission to verify the story about flurazine dye and find out if any "procedures" had been violated to make me radioactive. One federal marshal even said, it makes no sense that if you loose a radioactive tool down a hole why would you make the entire hole radioactive. It's really low grade radioactivity. You could eat the stuff and other than purple poop have no ill side effects. It's just so you know if you start getting a purple radioactive substance at the top of the hole that you got to stop. 18+ The worst part of it was I had purchased my fiance a vibrator and every time my bags were searched they cops took it apart, turned it on and messed with it. We threw it away when I finally got to her house.
