I don't even know why it is so. I know that Japanese companies watch closely and use to strike down yt videos about almost anything uploaded about their idols. How it gets translated to social media is still a mystery to me.

Back in the day, I used to search youtube for any "guide" about Japanese idol groups, finding nothing. I kept looking for quite some time and I almost gave up. MVs were blocked on many countries (and still are). The very first time I watched the ATLAS mv was through a vpn because it was blocked. It was refreshing when we-B studios began widely distributing PassCode's mvs and setting them for premiere on youtube.

I can't understand those companies mindset.

I think its a mixture of the extreme japanese copyright law and and an apparently still existing isolationist mindset..

Yeah, all of Kalafina's MVs were off of YouTube for so long until recent years. It makes no sense to me why Japanese companies do this. But it seems like they've been opening up more lately at least.
