I recently went to the pharmacy to pick some medications up and the total was about $135 cheaper than I expected. Not complaining but I was just confused by that But still preferable to the opposite direction, being $135 more than I expected.

Population control Besides if you don’t want to use condoms for whatever reason and can’t get birth control because of price the resulting baby will cost much more than any medication. And I’m guessing no one has a monopoly on birth control like the medication in this situation. If there’s a monopoly on a product you need you’re usually paying much more than you should. Besides, if it’s covered by insurance it may not be cheap but also it would probably be way less expensive than many of the other things you pay for.

Ah but for birth control pills (esp getting it covered by insurance) you need a prescription and would need to take the whole months worth for it to prevent anything that month so it’s a lot more complicated than condoms or other contraceptives

I know there’s those day after pills or wtv that you can just buy, but I don’t know much abt them, but insurance wouldn’t do a thing

the fact that ppl can make monopolies on life saving drugs is so messed up

I haven't. But while I'm sure to people with certain insurance or whatnot there may be someone who faces the issue of overly pricey meds under insurance I have a hard time believing it's the majority of people who take meds.
If you need a prescription yeah it's harder in that sense but it seems like the prescription can be given by many different people, even the pharmacist, unlike most meds like that. Probably varies for the different areas but still. I wouldn't find it a better option if I needed to probably but I can see why for some it wouldn't be that hard.
It would be better if prices for those cases went down I don't disagree. I just don't think birth control is really relevant being a different drug under different companies and different audiences and so on. I think the argument about one having anything to do with another isn't really that clear cut.

what vikki omitted to clarify is that the reference to pharmacy is probably to the "back of a truck" hence the cheaper medication
