2nd gen was 200x-till just before red velvet debut, if im not mistaken(?) RV/MMM - 2nd gen[M.I.L.K. I think is in between imo kinda 1.5th gen, just like how some think there's gen2.5 (ggs mostly) before RV/GF, ETA yes google shows a 3rd gen bg started in 2012+ 2013-i'm not getting into tat, but CNBLUE in 2010 im counting as gen 2.5, girls day, miss a, sistar also, similarly in 2011 apink, brave girls, dal shabet - gen2¾?(dont feel they belong in 2nd gen yet not fully 3rd gen, sthg in between.end edit]

3rd n 4th gen are quite nebulous to me, is I.O.I n izone 2nd n 3rd gen respectively? When did/does 4th gen start? 3rd gen starting was 2014-rv/mmm, 2014-twice, 2015-bp but not clear demarcation line of its end; 2018-itzy was 4th gen but only 2012/13-2017 for 3rd gen, srsly only 4 6 yrs? While also 2018-2023 has been 6 yrs. I'd take a beat to consider 2024 as earliest to begin 5th gen, n see who debuts next year. nct new team & riize kinda seems like they might be considered earliest 5th gen but hey wadda I know, I don't follow kpop bgs. Mostly it's ive/lsfm/nj/yg's bm tats confusing the issue since pre-IVE it was not much issue, but Big 3 then only had itzy, aespa debut in 4th gen so it might not seem full 4th gen until big 4 ggs all debut so baemon LOL. All my opinion only pls don't take it too srsly LOL

They'd be 4th generation because a group debuting is not how you define a generation as if that was the case then how would TVXQ, Super Junior and SHINee all be in a single generation?

Don't see anything that'd constitute being 5th generation even going by the misconception it's around big debuts since Baby Monster would be YGs 4th generation girl group and Baby Monster is debuting around the same period of time as Blackpink did in the 3rd generation which is around 4 years into the generation.

This is just the same point in the generation where the previous generation is phasing out for various reasons and giving the new generation the opportunity of getting a more prominent grip on the generation which didn't happen immediately either in the 3rd generation but the closest you'll get to this being another generation is if you called 2018/19-2022 Gen 3.5 and continue the trend of people making generations even more confusing.
