this could be a very long post given that i watch literally everything people talk about, but since i have a lot of free time why not mention at least some:

• while not necessarily loved by everyone, doctor strange in the multiverse of madness got mainly positive reviews and i genuinely couldn't sit through it in theaters. i do not have high expectations for marvel movies but watching it felt like it was a nickelodeon original.
• dune (2021) is probably the biggest example of this in my case as i've seen people praise it left and right so i was very excited to watch it, only to go "and that's it?" in the movie theater as it ended. it's one of the most visually impressive movies i've seen thanks to the effects so i do not regret watching it on the big screen but despite the technical excellence, the movie itself felt very dull and i couldn't bring myself to care for the characters due to their lack of development. i haven't read the book and those who have will probably understand the story more than i did, but in my opinion being familiar with the source material should not be a requirement to enjoy a film.
• more recently, oppenheimer. now i don't want to reduce it to being just "men talking for 3 hours" as i tend to love longer movies in general but the expositional dialogue was definitely too much for me and there was something about all the bouncing from one intense scene to other that made it feel incoherent.
