Announcement Avatar & Cover Restriction (1 Viewer)

[Sourcekeeper]

While we have allowed high quality gifs image as avatars from day one, we realized that gifs are consuming high server resources, we've allowed sizes up to 1mb per image/avatar unlike other forums out there. To reduce server resources usage, we have implemented that all gifs on the forums will be non animated upon upload. This only applies to forum avatars/profile covers. We are sorry for any inconvenienced caused.

Edit - Maybe in the future, we can move over to a more powerful server so we can have these features again.

I'm a little confused with what "all gifs on the forums will be non animated upon upload" means. Does this just mean no gifs for dps? Or am I misunderstanding?

Yes, existing dps are not touched cause they are already uploaded.

So should we change gif dps to non gif ones or doesn't existing ones matter and I should just stick to what I have?

You can stick with the current one, its just future uploaded gifs will be non animated.

There was a misunderstanding on my part, there are many resources free on the server, changes has been reverted to allow gifs under 2mb again.
