I'm not surprised. More artists seem to want more freedom with their solos than they can get at SM so are leaving but remaining with their groups. I think it is really good of SM to be open to this. They would lose a lot of amazing artists otherwise.

as in for group activities they will still be shinee under SM but go separate companies for their individual activities

I mean, Kai is enlisted, Lucas left/went on hiatus (doubt he'll ever come back if SuperM is still a thing) and Baekhyun also left the company (and before he left, he threatened to).
So basically the NCT members and Taemin were left

Yeahhh if LSM was still in SM, maybe it would happen, but I think the current heads of the company are going a whole new route.
They also kinda abandoned aespa's lore and naevis didn't debut (yet)
