I mean it's not necessarily a bad thing. Co-workers can have very close relationships with one another, especially when working together is necessary and not just working in the same space. We call actors who work together co-stars, so why would it be wrong to say that idols in the same group are co-workers.

Indeed. I remember summer camp in 2002 where I slept, ate, and hung around with the same ~6 guys for six weeks. Suffice to say spending most of your time with the same group can lead to inter-group resentments and conflicts. And that was just for 6 weeks. I can only imagine what happens when you put into the equation things like underutilized group members, being treated poorly by management, personality incongruence, and really certain members gaining privileges that others aren't given (i.e., writing credits, more singing time, etc.) We all know members of groups who get the most solo opportunities like involvements in sub groups; solo projects; and even solo songs on group albums; while there is always at least one who is barely getting any airtime.

That's kinda part of what I enjoy about BEG. Gain and everyone is like, yea we are just coworkers y'all. However when members are friends it is cute 🤷‍♀️ just shouldn't be expected

It's a big deal because it breaks the bubble of fans' ideal view on a group.
They may not all be friends, but if they care for each other, that's what's most important to me

because that's the impression the company wants their product (the idols) to give...
if every group (at least the newer ones) came out and said we are just co-workers it destroys the kpop image the companies are trying to create nd I'm sure if the idols did really say that it would cost them a lot of sales
