It's not just the group's and company's choice to never speak on ex-members. There's this idea that it's "betrayal" egged on by some delulu fans.
The fact that Bobby had to whisper to take care of Hanbin, if the translation is even real and accurate. And it's not like iKON are a group that have never spoken about Hanbin leaving but they still feel the need to be careful.


You also have G-idle and Soojin
There have been a bunch of fan theories about Soojin being mentioned by the girls and then you have the simple and obvious ones.
Just let Soojin enjoy Superlady in peace.


And then you have MX and Wonho who got shit on by a loud few for leaving the airport after having vacationed together.

I've always hated how members of a group have to act like an ex-member never existed. They have history with the other members so I don't see why it's a problem to bring them up

Is this an ex members thing or a ex members whose departure was messy? I’ve never gotten the impression that it’s an issue when members left peacefully at the end of their contracts. But if there was beef company wise with said members it would be a bit odd for members still under the company to talk about them realistically

Ex members with messy departures but not messy with the other members.
Like when Wonho left because of the never proven bullying scandal and then Kihyun and I.M apologized because they went to Jeju with Wonho.

Yes but messy nonetheless, if the company has beef with a member it would be reasonable for employees not to mention the member. I don’t think it’s necessary always warranted to apologize for spending time together or whatever but it’s a bit misleading to say it’s an ex member thing, because there are plenty of cases where they do mention ex members in non messy cases I’m sure. It can still be stupid that they have to hold their silence but it’s more of a case by case basis.

I don't think Weeekly have mentioned Jiyoon since she left. Obviously we don't know much about what happened there - it could've been messy on the inside or it could've been very casual.

Also APINK with Naeun >_> though I'm more leaning toward IST being a snake than anything internal for both these groups.

I'm sure there's cases of messy situations where they still mention the ex member and cases of "clean" situations where the member leaving isn't mentioned, but my expectation is that if a case is confirmed to be messy fans will push back on it more than if it was amicable. Plus the whole company aspect, if it was a messy situation I can understand why while on the job the company may expect the remaining members to be silent about the ex members.
