Jeongyeon's name got romanized differently in the early days as Jungyeon.

I've also seen it get changed to Jungyung, and Jungyeong.

So they actually got it right instead of the myriad ways it could be wrong.

Haha, that was so confusing tbh...but I guess it was kind of like the "Jungkook" name situation. His name Romanized is technically "Jeong-Kuk" but to make it more internationally easier to say, they made it Jungkook (if you don't know Korean phonetics, you most likely would pronounce his name like "Jee-ung Kuhk").

I do wonder why they decided to keep the Romanization. But you could also say the same thing for Dahyun and Chaeyoung (whose names would be Dahyeon and Chaeyeong) but no one noticed it because it's always been that way in English.

And also for Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong

I mean, Lia's Korean name from Itzy is Ji-Su (as you both probably know) but so is Jisoo's from Blackpink. And Jihyo's birth name...

Nope! Dahyun's name in Hangul is 다현 and that little thing you see next to the circle with the line above and a line sticking out of it? The second line on the vertical line means that you add a "y" to it. Otherwise, it would just be "-eo". That's the same with others. The "eo" sound in Korean is similar to saying "uh".

If it was like "hyun" then it would be spelt like this: 다훈 and that would turn out being pronounced like "Da-hyoon"

The only different thing is that Dahyun has an "h" in her name which is this letter: ㅎ. It just makes the 여 (yeo) look a little different.

The O-looking letter is always just a placeholder. It doesn't make any noise. Think of it as a silent letter. You can also use it when you can't attach a vowel to a word and it stands alone. Like this would be how you write the letter I: 이

Also, when the O is the last letter in a Korean word, it serves as an "ng" so Chaeyoung has an "ng" at the end.

Nope because the 2 horizontal lines in "yeo" means that a "y" has been added: 여. This would be if there was no "y": 어
