Favorite Literary Character Name Of All Time?


What's your favorite character name from fiction? Whether it be literary proper or other fictional source?


Mine?


Taran.

The main protagonist of the high fantasy series The Chronicles of Prydain.

He starts as Assistant Pig Keeper and just keeps rising to greatness as is Bildungsroman tradition.

Something about that name stuck with me from the moment I started reading the series as a child.

At once simple and unpretentious, yet contradictory in its magnetism.

I hence forth used it as my avatar name in countless RPG adventures and dragon slaying sagas.


Runner up for me is Revan. From Knights Of The Old Republic fame. Similarly simple yet authoritative with stature.
