Ooooh i find the entries strong this year.

I get it, I think it's more than ever before since global voting was allowed since last year and countries will try to sway the global voters.
But I think that some countries do better by picking English. Also, English songs do better overall.
For example, I doubt that people would like Bazart or Stan van Samang if Belgium send them even though they're great artists. It wouldn't work.

I think that you can do English songs, but put in some influences (Mustii's song is English but has the characteristic darker/alternative pop influence that Belgium has been known for).

they should make it mandatory to sing in an official language! I am fed up with US pop, America everywhere, that's annoying haha.
I don't listen to radio anymore for a reason... lol

I still havent listened too all song, but from what I have heard this years songs are sooo boring. I`m sad some countries americanized their songs and sing in eng instead of their native language.

Honestly, it just depends. I listen to the radio but I have the feeling that big artists can release trash and get overplayed on the radio when good songs get played once in a blue moon.
Singing in a different language doesn't necessarily mean you avoid the US pop tho.
In Flanders, we have an artist, Camille, who sings in Dutch but has US pop songs
