today's reason is how emotional and meaningful their music is
as well as how much emotion they put into performing

take Good Enough for example.

It's the fact that the first version of this song was a poem that Gunil wrote while looking at the sea at dawn back when he was a student at Berklee and lived in Boston. Also the fact that the song is based on Gunil's love experience back then, a love that couldn't be, and when they recorded the song they decided to turn off the lights of the studio to convey the deep emotions properly! The song ends with "You'll never find this story of mine", which means that the person who the song is talking so endearingly about won't ever know that this song exists nor the feelings hidden deep within.😭 This song is truly beautiful and brings tears from how emotionally filled it is 😭😭😭😭😭

Honestly Gunil is such a good lyricist and such a multitalent that he doesn't get enough credit for

He went to Berklee and plays drums really well everyone knows, same with being a great reader

But his lyricism? His vocals, and that he actually trained in them? He doesn't get enough credit

but literally? He came up with the genius lyrics for hair cut and good enough? And COMPOSING and making melodies and also playing guitar?

Literally when your main instrument is drums it's much harder to be a multi instrumentalist when it doesn't have the same melodic notes and stuff, same with composing and writing lyrics when he's doing the RHYTHM
