Yeah. Originally no one was tolerant of lactose as an adult. It started to be a thing in various parts of Europe originally, and relatively recently too in the grand scheme of things. Which is partly why the rate of lactose tolerance is so high in Europe or US when compared to somewhere like East Asia. Even now it’s estimated that somewhere between 65%-75% if the worlds population is lactose intolerant
