Yes. Absolutely. Although everyone is different, it can happen. It happened to me. I don’t listen to it as much, and I’m also not as active as I used to be on here.

They can, like any other hobby. They won’t necessarily do so though. And every hobby can be outgrown.

idk if i will get to that phase. it's almost my 15th years as a kpoper & a lot of my biases are already graduated/disbanded as a kpop singer yet i keep finding new idols to stan, even the new ones from 5th gen

I only been stanning kpop since 2018, so it depends. I stan new gg every yr-2018: SNSD(complicated by listening first to Gee in 2009 but not rlly actively following up in between, just randomly clicking on bits that popped up on yahoo Asia news.
2019-2022/23(?): blackpink, gfriend, everglow, gidle, yooA/oh my girl, rv Irene & seulgi, WJSN The black/Cosmic Girls, aespa, VIVIZ(as sub unit of gfriend), IVE. Nothing since. End of gfriend hit hard, so once the preceding disband/solo only might be me not stanning any new ggs. Since solos are lessfrequent than most ggs, 5 yrs till IVE group contract renewal might be less intensity for me unless a new gg pops up tat I stan.

I dont believe so but everyone is different. I see people on reddit all the time selling their entire collections and it feels like they are selling their happiness. I can't imagine parting with all my CD's. Maybe I'm the weird one. I'm also in my 40's...

I distinguish between the music and the 'idol cult'. When I came to K-Pop, I never really got into that idol concept. Ideas like having a bias is a neat extra, but it seems some fans take those things way too serious and seem to forget that the most important thing in K-Pop should be the music.

Can you outgrow the K-Pop scene? Yep, like you can outgrow any other scene. For example, I listen to Metal, but I'm no longer part of the Metal scene. Can you outgrow a musical genre? Sure, but why should I stop listening to a specific music genre when I still like it?

Well the part of kpop i love fun happy music with solid to great vocals i will not out grow at least i have not in my entire life.
Will kpop change enough to make me look elsewhere like the majority of other music has maybe.
although i think there will be a niche in kpop and jpop for fun happy music preformed well with solid vocals for the foreseeable future.

I have a number of groups active that I'm a fan of/enjoy which is great, but I am very cautious about getting in to new ones now. I'm not in to/following most of the newer GGs and probably won't. So I guess if that doesn't change, when the current groups I follow disband there will be nothing in K-pop for me to pay attention too anymore.

I'd say I've personally grown out of the "scene" or fandom aspect (aside from SNSD, of course), but I still listen to the music. I just treat it more like any other genre I listen to.
