I think everyone should have the right to vote, BUT on every voting ticket there should be
a standardized form comparing parties' stances on major issues of the country
(eg. health care, economy, military spending, climate, abortion, LGBT and minority rights, foreign policy, etc.)
Just like comparing phones on GSM arena
Yes, voting process would then last much longer, but who cares, better be better informed, without dumb catchy slogans.

I agree most people should be allowed to vote unless they have committed a crime against the country or are not a citizen of the country. I think there should be a different approach in the U.S. to voting to disallow written in votes for those who are not on the ballot. A number of people threw their vote away for memery (Harambe) that affected voting results.

Nope. I don't believe criminals, nor non-citizens should vote. Reason being, why should someone who doesn't respect the law (criminals) be able to have a say on what the laws are? For non-citizens, they may vote for what will benefit their country or them rather than the country they are voting for. I understand that many people may be framed, but for the majority that aren't, they could make a big impact.

But don't make it mandatory. I have to vote tomorrow and every time I have the chance to be called and count votes and sit there the whole day
Missing one voting can lead to a fine.

I actually think voting should be accessible to as many people as possible (with some exceptions) and the process should be easier (used to work during election and voting days). Having a wide variety of political opinions and diversity eventually balances out candidates, allowing for a wide range of policies and candidates, conservative and liberal. I’m not concerned for non-citizen voting as much as voting fraud is extremely low. Rather foreign influence comes into play with super pacs and campaign financing.

That's bit interesting I guess, left wing is usually just regarded as utopistic and overly tolerant here, when the issue is rise of right wings with True Finns, the anti-immigration anti-EU party that has now found lot of like minded people in EU.

It is pretty hard to find good candidates to vote these days, I always try to make lot of research before voting, but finding candidate that fits most of my views seems pretty impossible xd

I don't think that should mean that elderly people aren't allowed to vote though. They only make up a small amount of the population in most countries so their votes shouldn't have a huge effect. Right?

Unfortunately here a lot of young people are going to other countries exactly because our politicians destroy the country and steal a lot. So they won the majority like this. The young ones don’t vote for left wing

People can vote only when they are major so it means at the moment they are able to build a future by working etc....

and YES every people should be able to vote because each people defend different cause

and if you want to prevent people to vote it'll based on what ?

their education? so you'll private everybody who didn't have enough money to finish high school or go to university

their revenue ?so you'll favorise people who are rich compare to people who have less money

Every people should have the right to vote that's why there's different candidate because each one defend different cause, CEO of company will tend to vote for people who will favorise company and not other people
Young people will vote for people who will favorise their studies and help them with more scholarship etc....
in contrary parents will tend to vote for people who will give more help to family and increase their purchasing power

I voted during early voting, but yup it was pretty difficult to find one candidate and I'm not most happy with my choice either. This time I just didn't find anyone that good so had to go with most okay one xd

Middle-aged and young people vote just as stupidly. Actually, for young people it's not voting that makes them stupid voters.

But propaganda is easily reaching older generations through the internet. It's funny to see how people that warned me when I was younger about the dangers of the internet take a meme off Facebook and believe it's facts lol.

People will always be manipulated to vote not in their favor by people acting in own self-interest. But i don't think that's a reason to stop them from voting.

People end voting on the one they think is the most charismatic, and we end up having to pray for miracles to happen
