I just notice that American pop don't seem to be as strong than before

for example i remember before when more than the half of the top 10 of the song in France were American pop while now, it's only French rap songs
even on the radio they don't play as much American pop song as they used to do

also American pop used to be the artist with the most view on youtube and now Kpop beat them

so people who don't live in America did you notice that American pop seems to decrease of popularity in your country or not ?

For me i notice, the young generation in my country are more into kpop than american pop, its seriously everywhere, while people who were in my generation grew up more with american pop, so yes i can say its on a decline.

I think so. I think it's because of how international social media and music has become. It started with Gangnam Style and it hasn't ended since. A flow of top songs from all over the world started to become popular in America (especially 2017 onward with Despacito and the rise of Latin music) and people started paying attention to other countries and their music.

I also think it's because a lot of countries have adapted their music to sound a lot like American pop. I, personally, feel that it's not a good thing but it's certainly helped people appreciate their own country's music a lot more.

I win then, since I like eurobeat that is almost dead lol

Unless somebody likes Disco
Bee Gees's are money :) Abba is great.
The 90's stuff from Sweden (ace of base ect was close enough to disco.
Roly Poly was disco as was lovey dovey.

Disco gets a bad rap. Its just dance music.

I feel like it's more R&B/rap now? I don't know haha.

But I was freaking bored with American music so that's why I finally got into kpop which seemed more refreshing and
boi

Definitely, majority of people i know who were big on american pop have branched out to other genres. It's been declining for a while now.

Most people i know listen to R&B and EDM. I think K-pop is even more popular nowadays.
