"The damages lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and a former ADOR employee has entered a new phase following a decision to refer the case to mediation.
According to Star News, the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 51 (Solo Judge) decided on November 28 to refer the damages lawsuit, in which former ADOR employee A is claiming 100 million won in compensation from Min Hee-jin for defamation through false information, to mediation.
Mediation is a process in which the parties involved resolve a lawsuit through mutual understanding. During the mediation date, both sides go through a process aimed at reaching an agreement.
This lawsuit was filed by A in August and, on September 23, resulted in an approval decision for a provisional attachment request on real estate owned by Min Hee-jin, amounting to approximately 100 million won. The provisional attachment was likely conducted to secure payment capability.
A created a stir by alleging sexual harassment and cover-up incidents involving Min Hee-jin and the ADOR deputy CEO. A claimed to have been sexually harassed by the deputy CEO during their tenure at ADOR and that Min Hee-jin attempted to cover up the incident. Subsequently, in August, A filed a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin at the Mapo Police Station in Seoul for defamation and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. A also reported Min Hee-jin and the deputy CEO to the Seoul Western Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor for unfair labor practices and workplace misconduct.
Although the provisional attachment decision was made, it does not immediately lead to the disposal of Min Hee-jin’s residence. Provisional attachment is a legal process in which a creditor temporarily seizes a debtor’s property to ensure repayment. If A wins the damages lawsuit in the main trial and Min Hee-jin cannot compensate, the provisional attachment could proceed to property disposal.
Previously, Min Hee-jin spoke about her situation on stage at the "2024 Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel" event, saying, "The lawsuit fees came to 2.3 billion won. I may have to sell my house because of these fees. But I felt truly fortunate. I even thought, ‘Did I have this house for this purpose?’ If I didn’t have money, I wouldn’t have been able to fight. I was also very grateful that I didn’t have a husband or children and that my parents were doing well.""
