"The damages lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and a former ADOR employee has entered a new phase following a decision to refer the case to mediation.

According to Star News, the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 51 (Solo Judge) decided on November 28 to refer the damages lawsuit, in which former ADOR employee A is claiming 100 million won in compensation from Min Hee-jin for defamation through false information, to mediation.

Mediation is a process in which the parties involved resolve a lawsuit through mutual understanding. During the mediation date, both sides go through a process aimed at reaching an agreement.

This lawsuit was filed by A in August and, on September 23, resulted in an approval decision for a provisional attachment request on real estate owned by Min Hee-jin, amounting to approximately 100 million won. The provisional attachment was likely conducted to secure payment capability.

A created a stir by alleging sexual harassment and cover-up incidents involving Min Hee-jin and the ADOR deputy CEO. A claimed to have been sexually harassed by the deputy CEO during their tenure at ADOR and that Min Hee-jin attempted to cover up the incident. Subsequently, in August, A filed a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin at the Mapo Police Station in Seoul for defamation and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. A also reported Min Hee-jin and the deputy CEO to the Seoul Western Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor for unfair labor practices and workplace misconduct.

Although the provisional attachment decision was made, it does not immediately lead to the disposal of Min Hee-jin’s residence. Provisional attachment is a legal process in which a creditor temporarily seizes a debtor’s property to ensure repayment. If A wins the damages lawsuit in the main trial and Min Hee-jin cannot compensate, the provisional attachment could proceed to property disposal.

Previously, Min Hee-jin spoke about her situation on stage at the "2024 Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel" event, saying, "The lawsuit fees came to 2.3 billion won. I may have to sell my house because of these fees. But I felt truly fortunate. I even thought, ‘Did I have this house for this purpose?’ If I didn’t have money, I wouldn’t have been able to fight. I was also very grateful that I didn’t have a husband or children and that my parents were doing well.""

This will never end right? Even when i retire i will hear about Min Hee Jin and Ador
Well the Min Heejin vs Hybe drama part of it will go on for a while as she has a ton of cases but we'll see how long NewJeans sticks for since in theory I could see them backing out and I'm not sure it'll be as big of a story then.

Their stance is changing here and there like they hid the NewJeans name on their jacket at an event which was different to their NewJeans never die at the conference so they seemingly understand they are going to lose the brand if they leave.

I don't think you will hear about Ador anymore, I feel like if Hybe loses NewJeans, the name Ador is kinda burnt and they would rather re-brand to another name for that label

can't make any promises about Min Hee-Jin though :awkward:

Hybe owns the entire NewJeans brand so they'll be able to use none of it from their created stage names to the names and logos which considering they covered the name with Bunnies logos makes me think they fail to understand the situation still.

Their stage names are their birth names, I don't think it's possible for a company to prevent someone from introducing themselfs with their own name

They did not use the bunnies logo, but just pictures of bunnies. HYBE does not own all copyrights to all pictures of bunnies

Their stage names are not their full names and only part of their birth names which is not the same.

They only used pictures of Bunnies as a cover up because it's the fandom name, so if Hybe has coverage on Bunnies then they will lose the fandom name too regardless of the images used.

I actually looked it up and none of their stage names/real names are trademarked, same for their fandom name. It's not possible to trademark these in Korea, since they are too generic

The only thing they probably can't use are Ador's designed logos like this one, but it's not possible to trademark the whole animal

It's more so about Hybe dragging them into a copyright lawsuit if they don't make a rebrand distinct enough to where Hype can argue it's "too similar" since you take a look at something like Beast and even Gfriend then the rebrands basically let go of everything they built and for Gfriend Source Music only actually trademarked the original Gfriend logo.
