Literally, I did this all the time my freshman year of high school and I'm pretty sure I somehow went deaf from having my earbuds so loud. I know for a fact (because everybody always told me so) that I had my music up so loud people sitting a desk or two away from me could hear my earbuds. I guess it was my teenage angst phase or something??

Meanwhile, I'd really like to try this method if it weren't for the fact that I feel like turning the lights off will somehow result in me falling asleep. Sometimes I try to listen to music with my iPod with my eyes closed and by the end of a mini I'm always nodding off... :( Maybe I should just get more sleep?

Your brain may believe it is time to rest due its association of night to sleep, so it's not necessarily because you aren't getting enough. I personally don't have that problem since I'm incapable of falling asleep if there's music playing

Then maybe it's also because I always used to put the classic radio station on when I slept, so my brain also associates music with sleeping? I'll just have to make sure I'm upright at all times, LOLLL
