Yeah they are clearly in violation until a court rules the contract void. I would really doubt any agency writes clauses, such that the artist can walk away pre term without consent for anything short of Felonious criminal acts by the agency.

If I had to guess the outage is more of the fact that
1. it occured at 3am (which doesn't seem like a particular inspection time; and
2. the footage and some pictures were leaked to DC gallery or something

The girls are not living there, right? So there is no issue maybe they are sick busy and working crazy hours. I know kids today have no concept of work, but i have been on the job at 3 am 100's of times.

They are essentially landlords for a sub-let space, they have to do inspections.
Also there is likely company property in the apartments that should be inventoried.
all the iphones ipads ect if company bought for example. ( though they would have to be stone cold morons to have not self purchased brand new ones in anticipation of the ...exit. [ but any company messaging/data apps used on the personal devices provide a back door to all the data one the devices depending on how thing are written)
The ee's may have taken some with them when they left. (ie stolen :p)
The kids and the parents are trying to play it both ways.
