I finished the Jerry Springer documentary on Netlfix, and there's one producer (Tony) they tried to make sympathetic, because his father was disappointed in the trash TV Tony was producing, and Tony gets all teary-eyed... and then he goes on to describe how he psychologically freaked out emotional and/or vulnerable people to "stir shit up" for the ratings and all I can think is... Tony's dad was right.
