MAMAMOO is kinda in the same state as BlackPink I think where they're all doing solo stuff, but are still part of the group. So a comeback any time is possible and realistic

I don't think you can put Mamamoo on this list and exclude Gfriend though since Mamamoo didn't even have a comeback for their 10th anniversary while Gfriend was able to and so was EXID who were both in worse spots than Mamamoo.

Like if Mamamoo aren't going to have a comeback for their 10th anniversary then realistically when are they? As for groups as old as Mamamoo, Gfriend and EXID that are split across different companies then anniversary comebacks are about as much as you can expect.

As a stan of EXID, Gfriend and Mamamoo I'd honestly put Mamamoo at the bottom of ones I'd expect a comeback from as doing barely anything for their 10th anniversary just comes across to me like they're done.

In Western terms it's way easier: a band is active until they officially disband. It doesn't matter when there will be new songs. But I doubt this works for K-Pop, otherwise every K-Pop group on hiatus could be on Moguri's 'active' list.

I would say that every K-Pop group is active that releases new songs during a year or tours during a year (including show performances). For example, Everglow. They already toured again before their official comeback. But that's probably a wrong definition of 'being active' in K-Pop too.

Well their last comeback was 2022 and for their 10th anniversary they only released a video which given only Solar and Moonbyul are under RBW still does make you wonder when they are actually going to have a comeback then.

it's really hard to define, the question more often than not seems to be if the company is willing to give the group a comeback.. the artists often seem to have little say in that. Thats probably the big difference to many cases in the west.

but obviously we are referring to kpop and not western music so we should adopt a kpop definition no?
also I can accept active doesn't mean comeback within the last 12 months as long as the group as a whole does something - I would accept that touring implies still active
individual personal activities of the members of the group - I would not count as consisting activities of the group (like for example BP but then again BP members did partake in their 8th anniversary which I would count as a group activity)

thus for GG since I am less aware of BG

the groups mentioned that I would count as active from moguri's list would be
