My first job at an actual business hiring me was working for a daycare. I did it one summer when I was in high school, and picked it because it was within walking distance of my house. It paid minimum wage, which is not enough money to put up with other people's children or their parents.

After I finished high school, I needed money for studying. I worked as a production assistant at Märklin Model Railways. It was a nice job and they paid pretty good. It started as a vacation job but the team was so cool that I stayed for two years. Then I started studying. In retrospect, staying at Märklin would be the better choice.

it wasn't a morning route but more like the community paper along with a bunch of paper ads/flyers job type of thing

Then I'd like to have a full railway layout but I don't have the necessary space in my apartment. There's one room that would be suitable but I already use it for home training. Well, you can't have everything.
