Its a vocal show case, but fell flat because sm held it until November 30, and it was clearly a Halloween song.
Did not help that it came the year after Bad boy. it was a Typical SM CF

Sequence was
Bad boy
Power up ( the first ever SM PAK, {prior songs sm was at war with a chart so they never released on it.}) this song drove the bad boy fans up the wall they hatted it. mostly because they wanted another bad boy.....
So they gave them this ... Really bad boy any one with a brain hated hate hated the stupid name of the song.
managed to piss off the red fans and the velvet fans with one song it was epic.
With useful lyrics this would have bee a solid song but the lyrics are just so awful.

a song even i remove from the rips of the album because i hate the swearing. same reason i dont like some early ive at all.

One of the earliest RV song I know/listened/rmbr cuz I was ard for it's release n it just too weird for me(others RV songs either I heard AFTER release or as tourney tat Abe ran or just on variety/music shows, maybe why I don't stan RV(OT4/5/grp or solo, only IS sub unit-it may hv rlly put me off but I rlly like some songs n most of ReVe Festival era n after especially Psycho n even Zimzalabim; idk if tat makes me a Velvet or Red fan. My ranking Monster, Naughty & Psycho are top 3 RV, first 2 might be interchangeable or im not sure it depends ig(inc solo n sub unit + OT4/5 but I don't stan other than Aseul and Irene solo.

In this thread, I've learned that Reveluvs hated RBB. I knew I didn't like it because I thought it was less good than Bad Boy and it was stupid of SM to name it so similar and make the comparison, but it grew on me.

Also learned that our Rand is a little sensitive. Would not have expected that with all the TWs on your favorite series lol.

Folks appreciate it now, and then as a vocal show piece. But as you said its a dumb attempt at a pop song. Its the only title from icc until cosmic that did not get a single music show win.
sales wise for a jewel case with only one version ( like red flavor{ mostly cus it was cheap and the photo cards are nice}) it was ok but its clearly a big dip.

and i hate omg in songs as much as the n word i dont want to be thinking or signing either.

lol as i have aged i pretty much prefer none at al but say "hell" is the cap.

for example while i bought Seulgi's last album in several version. i never listen to it nor will rip it. it was totally unnecessary similar to a full nude scene in like SG1( that they never did again after the pilot.)

But I just recently realized I LUVVVVV IVE's harmonies/melodies singing(no dissonance amongst the singers voices) n it's apposite to Psycho/Monster/Naughty or girl crush, tho monster/naughty only has 2 voices n Psycho has rlly great voices/melody/harmonies as compared to zimzalabim or bad boy or reve festival. The music also seems to be a factor for me, it can't be too ringing I think(most BP songs hv great melody/harmony compared to 2ne1 if I rmbr). I can literally listen to IVE Attitude or Rebel Heart multiple times in last few weeks/recently without tinnitus in my ears, even BP or other songs don't seem to work tat way on my ears.hvnt tried monster/naughty/Psycho tat way tho, as I don't want to spoil the memories/effect/experience.

It may be funny or just fate, but my stan list/bias list in my sig I love the singing even if only 1 gg I started stanning solely based on a song-Everglow 'ADIOS' or the dance Choreo in MV + song n I love their songs from tat point on(I bounced off hard from the music show perf of debut 'bon bon chocolat' whether it was the singing or Choreography or maybe just the ridiculous title/lyric bon bon chocolat which I still hate but I appreciate the singing/artistry/melody now for watever it is n I can overlook the ridiculous still title/lyric(mostly or just compartmentalize my brain)

Even aespa debut black mamba - not my fave but armageddon/Whiplash n other songs previous I love far more than black mamba. Even h2h the chorus is nice but h2h doesn't go over threshold (rn) to make me stan. Or rv ot4/5 post or pre psycho I don't stan em, just the song Psycho only.

I listened to it yesterday thanks to this thread, and you're totally right. It's enjoyable as a vocal showpiece because the girls are amazing, but it's not exactly an "add it to my cruising songs playlist" type of song either.

Thank you for sharing. We all have our things we don't like. And kpop albums are at least interesting collector pieces even if you don't play the CD itself.
