How much food is too much to keep in the house? (1 Viewer)

Depends on # of people and consumption speed

3 (my dad shows uninvited at dinner time, so 4) and almost every day depending on what's happening that week

Anything but breakfast is too much for me, since other meals are served at the university canteen. It will spoil if I get anything else.

That's fair, I'm on summer break rn so i don't get lunch from school atm, but I'm only in high school so they only served breakfast and lunch there

My dad is a hoarder
We left him iver a year ago. And still, besides tea and milk that he buys routinely, everything that was in there from when we left (a fridge freezer and a stand alone freezer) is still in there 💀 he always shows up at dinner time (we don't invite him) and we try to send home meats we get from the food bank that we won't eat and he won't take them bc he doesn't have room.... Clean it out 💀

I eat to zero, so honestly, this sounds like a nightmare to me.

It's not full of meat though, we have frozen vegetables, fruit, popsicles, ice packs, and sometimes icr cream if we can afford it. We also freeze muffins when we make them so they last longer. We only have one freezer and it's a part of our fridge. We don't eat out often for dinner, which is when we used our meat, but recently, we've had a lot of birthdays and events and we haven't had the chance to eat much at home for dinner 🥲

Oh sorry. I was referring to someone i know personally with a external freezer who fills it with copious amounts of pork, chicken, and beef.. and continues to eat out. I didn't mean you.

What does that mean 🫠

I try to only have exactly as much food as I can eat before it spoils, and I try to eat it until I have nothing in the fridge, and only then buy more.

For example, right now, excluding anything that hangs out for a bit (e.g. condiments), I have some cheese slices and strawberries in my fridge. That's literally it. I'm going to make bread later today, and then I'll have grilled cheeses until the cheese runs out.
