After reading that he was a complete racist and seeing his comments about black people, I honestly feel a lot less bad now..

Chris Benoit killed his wife and son, before hanging himself (Benoit was 40 when he died but the autopsy showed that he had the brain of a 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient). Stone Cold Steve Austin got convicted for domestic violence. Lex Luger was a drug addict.

-Benoit had been accused of domestic abuse with his wife before the murder so he was just trash through and through
-Austin was involved in a couple of domestic abuse incidents but his most recent ex wife has said they are on good terms I believe however I don't know about his previous one and I don't recall anything else since that
-Lex Luger being a drug addict isn't really an issue in itself but he did abuse Miss Elizabeth during his drug addiction which led to her taking her own life and he has said himself he's responsible for that so he isn't shying away from his role

Ultimately I wouldn't condemn someone who has seemingly turned their life around to be a more positive influence since remorse and having to live with their own actions is a bigger punishment than anything I could say. it's that exact part which Hulk Hogan missed though since when WWE wanted him to apologize to the wrestlers they had at the time the apology he gave was be careful what you say because you never know when you're being recorded so he wasn't remorseful about it when it happened and there's nothing since then that would make me believe he feels any differently.
