Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter this week, New Line Cinema CCO Richard Brener has indicated that what’s actually ending with Last Rites is merely “phase one” of the extended Conjuring Universe which thus far includes three core Conjuring movies along with a host of spinoffs including The Nun, The Nun 2, Annabelle, and Annabelle Comes Home.

Yep. A friend of the Warren's babysitter entered the artifacts room and released the spirit of Annabelle. Then she released other spirits in the room.

If they would tell the story of every artifact the Warrens collected, there would be plots for a few more Conjuring movies.
