Former ADOR (All Doors One Room) CEO Min Hee-jin appeared as a witness in the damages lawsuit between ADOR and Dolphin Kidnappers.

At 3 p.m. on the 11th, the third hearing for the 1.1 billion won damages lawsuit filed by ADOR against Dolphin Kidnappers was held at the Seoul Central District Court.

On this day, Min attended as a witness for Dolphin Kidnappers. Previously, she had testified in a lawsuit regarding the exercise of a put option and stock purchase payment with Hybe, but this was her first time appearing as a witness in a case not directly involving herself.

The lawsuit arose when Shin Woo-seok, director at Dolphin Kidnappers, an outsourced video production company for ADOR, uploaded the director’s cut of NewJeans’ ‘ETA’ music video to their own YouTube channel in August last year.

At the time, ADOR stated that the director’s cut had been posted without the advertiser’s consent, while Dolphin Kidnappers responded that, following ADOR’s request for deletion, they removed all NewJeans-related videos from another channel they operate, the ‘Ban Hee-soo Channel’.

Subsequently, Shin Woo-seok filed a criminal complaint, claiming that ADOR’s statement referring to the ‘unauthorized release’ of the director’s cut defamed him. In response, ADOR filed a civil lawsuit against Dolphin Kidnappers and Shin Woo-seok, seeking damages for breach of contract and unlawful conduct.

Haerin and Hyein Comply with Exclusive Contract After Court Ruling

[OSEN=Ji Min-kyung Reporter] NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein are returning to ADOR.

ADOR revealed on the 12th, "NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein have expressed their intention to continue their activities with ADOR."

The agency explained, "After careful consideration with their families and thorough discussions with ADOR, the two members decided to respect the court's ruling and comply with the exclusive contract."

It added, "ADOR will do its best to ensure Haerin and Hyein can continue their smooth entertainment activities," and "We respectfully request fans to refrain from speculation about the members and ask for your warm support."

Meanwhile, in November of last year, they declared the termination of the contract through a press conference, claiming ADOR violated exclusive contract obligations. Last month, Seoul Central District Court Civil Agreement Division 41, Jung Hoi-il Presiding Judge, ruled in favor of the plaintiff in the lawsuit filed by ADOR against the five NewJeans members to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract.

Back in October, ADOR won the contract validity lawsuit against the NewJeans members.

While NewJeans’ legal counsel stated they would appeal the ruling, no appeal was actually filed, leading to speculation the group may return to ADOR after all.

Three remaining NewJeans members to return to ADOR, ending year-long K-pop clash

The remaining three members of girl group NewJeans will also return to ADOR, putting an end to a year of confrontation between the five K-pop singers and their agency.

News came at around 7:45 p.m., shortly after members Haerin and Hyein announced their return to ADOR, that members Minji, Danielle and Hanni will also return to ADOR.

The news comes a year after all five members of NewJeans announced at a press conference on Nov. 28, 2024, that their exclusive contracts with ADOR were effectively null and void because the agency failed to adequately protect them.

The five members have since been involved in a legal battle against ADOR, which has filed for court injunctions against their activities outside the company. Separately, ADOR asked the court to determine whether the members' argument was legally valid.

On Oct. 30, the Seoul Central District Court ruled that NewJeans members' arguments were not sound and that they must remain with the agency until the actual expiry date of their contracts, as specified in the terms of their agreement.

All the members of NJZ (NewJeans) have been confirmed to have returned to ADOR.

On November 12, Hyein and Haerin were revealed to have returned to the company.

Shortly following the news, Yonhap News shared a tweet saying that Danielle, Minji, and Hanni had also returned to ADOR.

In the statement, the three members shared the reasons for returning.

Recently, after careful considerations, we have decided to return to ADOR. One of us is currently in Antarctica so the delivery of our stance was delayed, but since ADOR has not stated anything, we have been forced to share our position separately.

After a year since their contract termination announcement last November, all members of NewJeans are reportedly planning to return to their agency, ADOR. Following Haerin and Hyein, members Minji, Hanni, and Danielle have expressed their intention to rejoin the agency.

On November 12th, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle told Yonhap News, “After careful discussions, we have decided to return to ADOR.”

I read a comment on akp that said that to this point the total outlay of funds for the 5 has been small, but pursuing the appeal was going to explode that number for them personally ( and anyone who can read could tell it was doomed to fail). That come to Jesus moment got the minor's parents to the table.
