People are delusional buzzing with that since Ador pretty much has to take them back because they've talked up in court how they have everything prepared for all of them to return so while they might be willing to do a sub-unit with the youngest depending on the other 3 make no mistake about it that Ador will take them back however it will be on Adors terms and not theirs which may be a sticking point since they've lost all leverage pretty much.

Min Hee-jin issues statement on NewJeans’ planned return to ADOR

"NewJeans must be kept intact as five members"

Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has issued a statement following the news that NewJeans are planning to return to the agency after a lengthy legal battle.

Yesterday (November 12), ADOR announced that members Hyein and Haerin had “expressed their intention to continue their activities” with the label (translated to English).

“After careful consideration with their families and thorough discussions with ADOR, the two members have made the decision to respect the court’s ruling and comply with the exclusive contract,” the message added.

Remaining members Hanni, Danielle and Minji have also announced their decision to return to ADOR, according to reports, though ADOR has said they’re in the process of verifying these reports: “We are checking on the truth of Minji, Hanni, and Danielle’s intent to return.”

Following this news, former ADOR head Min Hee-jin has shared her own statement, per Soompi: “With many inquiries coming in, I would like to share my position. I believe the decision the members made yesterday to return together was reached after deep deliberation and discussion. I respect and support that choice.

“Despite the difficulties, I deeply value the courage of the members who joined hands again to protect one another. I can start anew anywhere. However, I believe that under any circumstances, NewJeans must be kept intact as five members. I hope the members grow stronger and that NewJeans becomes an even better group, and above all, that all five members are happy.

“More than anything, thank you to fans who stood by NewJeans even in difficult times. Please give a warm welcome to the members as they overcome these challenges and make their return. I too will watch over NewJeans’ music and growth and support them to the very end.

“During this period, as multiple lawsuits proceeded simultaneously, a difficult time has been prolonged for all of us. The litigation between HYBE and me is entirely separate and has nothing to do with NewJeans. As an individual, I am doing my very best and hope the truth will be brought to light. I ask for your continued support.”

Min, who had long overseen NewJeans’ career prior to their hiatus and legal feud with HYBE and ADOR, formally resigned from the company in November last year. The music executive first stepped down as CEO of ADOR that August. After Min publicly claimed the initial resignation was not her choice, she was eventually reinstated as an internal director on ADOR’s board of directors in late-September. Her new contract was recently renewed for three additional years with the board.

Following her resignation, Min and NewJeans found themselves in a lengthy battle against ADOR, with the K-pop group claiming that Hee-jin’s removal from the company had made them feel unprotected, and that the label was incapable of promoting NewJeans with the same care that Min had.

ADOR filed an injunction against the group in March, requesting to block them from carrying out independent activities under a different name. This came after the band independently rebranded themselves as ‘NJZ’ and were announced to perform at ComplexCon in Hong Kong.

The group would proceed with their ComplexCon performance, where they debuted a new song and announced an indefinite hiatus after a court ruled against the band’s rebranding.

The court had ruled over the summer that NewJeans were urged to honour their contracts with ADOR, and would not be legally permitted to engage in individual or group activities without the agency’s approval. Additionally, the court maintained that NewJeans’ allegations of mistreatment at the hands of ADOR had no standing due to a lack of evidence.

On October 30, the Seoul Central District Court rejected NewJeans’ appeal to terminate their contract and agreement with ADOR in order to pursue independent activities. As a result of this verdict, NewJeans are required to remain with ADOR exclusively until 2029.

I was thinking about this, regardless of how one feels about the NJ members, there's something very weird about cheering on people who are obviously, blatantly doing something they don't want to do and are somewhere they don't want to be, but are legally required to sing and dance until their contract is up.

maybe they didn't and their hands were forced whether by their situation (economic coercion??) or the younger members but they do want to know and it's up to ador to sure up their intentions and whether to make them sweat or impose penalties or other conditions etc etc

It's pretty clear they were caught off guard by Haerin and Hyein coming to terms with Ador and immediately started panicking as they know they just lost a ton of leverage since even with just 1 member Ador has everything need to retain the brand but with 2 they could pretty much pull off their own TVXQ if they feel is necessary so while I do think Hybe will want to come to terms with the others however they don't need Minji, Danielle and Hanni so Hybe can pretty much ask them to do something to prove they aren't with Min Heejin and those 3 in particular Minji and Hanni were the loudest.

The damages lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and girl group ILLIT’s agency Belift Lab continues.

The 12th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court will hold the fourth hearing on the 20-billion-won damages suit filed by Belift Lab against former CEO Min on the 14th.
Min Hee-jin has been in a dispute with HYBE since April 2024, claiming that Belift Lab’s artist ILLIT plagiarized the concepts of NewJeans, the group she created. Min insisted that after ILLIT’s teaser photos were released, online reactions such as “I thought it was NewJeans” spread explosively, sparking major controversy. Belift Lab denied the allegations and began legal action in response.

Min further stated, “If the court looks at the materials, they will also find it confusing to distinguish whether it's ILLIT or NewJeans. What’s important in this case is that the defendant’s planning materials were leaked before the plaintiff’s plan was finalized. Considering all the circumstances together, raising objections as the head of NewJeans’ company was in the public interest, and therefore cannot be considered defamation.”

Meanwhile, on the 13th, Min Hee-jin released an official statement expressing support for NewJeans’ return to ADOR. She said, “I can start anew anywhere. But under any circumstance, NewJeans must be protected fully as a group of five. I hope the members grow into an even better NewJeans and, above all, that each member is happy. Oh, I get why the members are doing it. I'm just musing on comments I've seen from other people about still supporting the group and cheering on the members, and it's like... but they don't want to be there doing this with this company. That feels strange.

The thing is do we really know they don't want to be there under the right pretense though? Like if I tell you something horrible about someone and you avoid that person as a result however it's a lie then you are avoiding that person because of something that is not reality. It ultimately depends on if any of the girls are way too far gone to see Min Heejin misled them since maybe the complete loss they had in court made Haerin and Hyein at least think about the situation differently since if Min Heejin assured them that they would win and they didn't then that's solid proof she lied.

The reality of the situation is I'm sure it is these girls dreams for the most part and Min Heejin twisted Hybe in the girls eyes to believe Hybe is intentionally messing with them and she's the only one with good intentions for them which she had years to do so. This is the first time Hybe has really had the opportunity to talk to the girls so I think it's worth waiting to see if they can be gotten through to however I think if any of them avoid the meetings like they did with the mediations for the most part then which only Minji and Danielle showed up for so the fact two of the members that didn't even go to the mediations are the ones who came back shows there may be some hope in breaking that hold if they can just communicate the reality of the situation to the girls and with time show they do have good intentions for the group.
