But I'm thinking of how JYPE let Chaeyoung release an entire album of bedroom pop songs, which is very different from what TWICE does. Which seems like a smart way to capitalize on an individual's solo fandom and keep that attention (and money) with the company. But heck, SME fumbled Baekhyun and Taemin, of course they wouldn't find a way to make what Mark wants work.

Yeah but if Marks looking for the busking vibe it would probably be super difficult to do at all in if he’s in Korea. He could make acoustic guitar songs sure, I think 1999 fit that vibe, but imagine the stampede if NCT fans in Korea learn that Mark is going to be busking in Seoul. That would probably cause a full on stampede, which is a little bit of a different feel Honestly I don’t think it would really be possible at all if he’s actively in NCT, even if they specifically secretly send him to other countries for that, because while he’s actively in NCT the fan base would just be way too huge and actively wanting to go to all his performances. It would be different if he just wanted solo songs of a certain genre like Chaeyoung, loads of SM artists (including Mark) have been doing that for many years

I will be very curious to see if he actually takes up busking, or if he is just going for that kind of song.

I'd like to volunteer him for Begin Again.
On the whole busking vibe but in a controlled, variety show fashion. I love the covers and acoustic sets they do on the show.

I wonder if the issue there was Mark was in Every group (or it felt like it) and together they couldn't pick one to take him out of to free up that time?

No more U would be easy, lots of NCT U lineups didn’t have Mark and U rarely released things. But that’s true about the other two

The bright side about NCT is that so many members won’t need to do mandatory military service. From what I remember Jeno, Haechan, and Jaemin will need to in the next 3 years, Jisung in the next 4, Sion in the next 5, and Jaehee in the next 8. Jaehyun returns in a month, Doyoung and Jungwoo will return in mid to late 2027. Everyone else has already finished or aren’t Korean born.

Even if all eligible members of NCT enlisted at the same time they would still have more members than Seventeen
