Have you ever watched a movie that made you say wow... I am not the target audience

I'm currently watching Heat. A movie with Al Pachino and Robert DeNiro, great actors. But wooooooooow this is a manly-man movie. All the guys have wives they kiss hello-goodbye and have a family to provide for and are doing crazy stunts like having a shoot out in the middle of a pedestrian road/walkway. Which is cool, but it's-- hold your electronics tight to not get blow away--
THREE HOURS LONNGGGGG Actually 170 minutes which is 10 minutes short of 3 hours

It's very much a movie that I can see people who want to provide for their families would watch but I do not have enough testosterone levels to watch this movie..

Listen This isn't the only movie that I call a manly-man movie, Mad Max was painstakingly manly-man in the sense that it's nearly 3 hours of scenic car chases and the occasional booby slip.

We need a new genre like Chickflics but for men.

I still watched the whole thing though... It's one of the better manly-man movies I will say but nothing beats The Godfather

Heat is famous in that the shoot out scene is legend, The reload by Val Kilmer under fire is used in training by police and military's.

i watch a ton of movies i was not the target for. Harry potter ect because they were a shared experience with family.

Mad max just made me mad as intended. I would cheerfully personally shoot every rpist in the world and watch em bleed out.

the genre was superhero/ star wars until they poisoned the well in perpetuity.

I probably have but can't recall. I did have this happen with an album yesterday. Scaring the Hoes by JPEGMafia and Danny Brown, got about halfway through before deciding to give up and go back to billy woods lol

Similar to how searching for bobby fisher is wrapped in chess, Love of the game, field of dreams in baseball.

8 Mile (with Eminem, etc.) wasn't my cup of tea, yet I watched it like twice lol there was so much fighting in it, and I was only 16 when it came out, so it wasn't even allowed for me to watch it. in retrospect, I think I only watched it bc Detroit was my dad's hometown lol

Never heard of that movie, will check that out!!

Sports movies can be fun like Coach Carter but if the actors aren't stellar character movies often fall flat

I get that, 8 mile is very heavy because it does deal with issues like substance abuse and abuse in general.

Honestly, watching something because of recognition is valid, that's probably how we all gravitate towards some films more than others.

It's a good to know what you like and don't like
