I personally prefer color pencils because there are varieties of color to choose from
like there can be a very light shade of blue. Also, you can use different methods to shade and color. While for markers there are less option to choose from.
Also markers ink down to the drawing when you look at the back.​

Depends what for tbh, if it's for art purposes then pencils bc of all the reasons you said, you just get so much more control with them. Markers are good for school stuff like marking or labelling n stuffs.

Try the Art n Fly markers. Their color range isn’t as good, but quality wise they’re pretty much the same as copic. I bought them the same time as my copics like a year ago, none have run out
Also, Artist loft! Their color range is great, if you’re willing to sacrifice a soft brush tip
