What are the most famous landmarks in the city that you're currently living in?
Mitaka City is located within the western area of the Tokyo metropolis and compared to other parts of Tokyo, Mitaka is very quiet and mainly residential.
Though we do have some interesting places of interest for tourists. Such as Inokashira Park which is only a short walk from either Mitaka Station or Kichijoji Station.
The most famous landmark within Mitaka though is a museum that's located close to Inokashira Park, and this museum is of noticeable interest if you're a Studio Ghibli fan. Because it is here that you can find the Ghibli museum!
I've been to the museum before and it was an enjoyable experience because whilst inside the museum you feel like you're actually in a Ghibli film as you walk around the maze of exhibits.
You also get to watch a short film that was animated by Hayao Miyazaki himself, and these films can only be seen in the museum. (The film changes on a monthly basis)
Fair warning though. Photos aren't allowed within the museum itself and you also have to book tickets in advance (numbers are limited) and this is to maximise the experience of the visitors. So no overcrowding or people blocking the exhibits as they attempt to take selfies!
There are some areas around the outside of the museum and within the restaurant that you can take photos though.
