I have posted this before on another forum
So I keep hearing people saying some groups are boring. In kpop some idols are not originally talented most work hard for their talent. So I think it is only right they work hard for their personalities. Below are some methods to prevent having boring/uninteresting groups:
Corporate method: This method will recruit talented people without worrying about the trainees being boring/uninteresting. The company will then add a class called ‘becoming interesting’ as a mandatory class for all trainees. This class will teach the idols how to funny, relatable, and interesting. So fans won’t worry about idols being boring. Caution being too interesting can be a problem. The motto for this class should be ‘strive to be moderately interesting’
Partial recruitment: This method recruits funny and interesting idols the same ways visuals are recruited. For a group some of the members will added because they are funny not for talent. Then there will be an official position called funny member(smth similar). These funny/interesting trainees are then taught different skills in order to be mildly talented. The problem with this method is how will the company determine if the potential trainees are funny/interesting.
The funny trainees are determined through elimination.
Full recruitment: This method is similar to the partial recruitment. The only difference is that everyone in the group will scouted because they are funny. This method is dangerous as the group can become too funny.
Checking Chemistry: This method will recruit trainees for different reasons as it is done now. Before a group debuts all the people that are being considered for the group will live together with cameras monitoring their actions. The footage gotten for this will then help the company determine the trainees that have good chemistry and can be funny when put together.
Fake it till it is real: This method entails the idols portraying an interesting character as their real character. As time goes on the idols will finally feel comfortable in their interesting character. The goal of this method is not to be interesting. The goal is to make people think you are interesting.
Which method do you prefer?

Ask JYP: Other companies can ask JYP how he makes their groups interesting. I have heard from fans that JYP groups are interesting(although I don’t know if this is true). I am sure if you ask him he will tell you about one of the methods above.
Just a fun post. Something I thought of when I was bored. Don’t take it too serious.
