The Show is actually a fair show but it got the reputation for being a charity show for a stipulation they have that only 1 other music show has something similar.

This stipulation is that you have to perform at The Show to be able to win on The Show and Big 3 groups especially tend to skip The Show but on occasion they do show up.

I mean if we're being real, Red Velvet haven't gone on The Show in a long time. They're attendance on The Show is very inconsistent. Actually, that goes for all Big 3 groups. When they want, they attend. Sometimes, they go on for 2-3 comebacks without attending and then on the 4th comeback, they attend. It's weird.

As for the "nugu show" stereotype. People only place that on The Show because they let everyone perform and their win system is constructed in a way that even nugus can win, with the right timing.

For the number of years I've been into K-pop, large named groups/artists went on SBS The Show (on Tuesdays) and even MBC Show Champion (on Wednesdays) for ages.

Then they kind of focused more on the bigger chart shows; Mnet M countdown (Thursdays), KBS Music Bank (Fridays), MBC Show Music Core (Saturdays) and SBS Inkigayo (Sundays).

However, The Show and Show Champion are cheaper to get a performance spot as they are the less popular shows. Thus, many rookies go on these two chart shows most as their companies may not be able to afford the other four.

As such, The Show and Show Champion have built a rep and stereotype of being "rookie chart shows".

I was surprised to see RV on The Show today after having not been on for awhile, but it's not out of the norm. :)

So anyone can be on these shows and with the right timing for nugus and lesser-known groups and soloists, they could also win.
Usually, I haven't seen any big groups or soloists on the show, so subconsciously, I thought that the show was for the lesser-known groups and was surprised when Red Velvet was showing up.

They have always went week 1 sometimes 2 or 3, especially since they started blowing off mcountdown.
JYP aka twice tends to skip there i think.

Also they did the pink outfits likely the only time we will see them, so rv is serious about the show.

Wow! Do you think there should be an actually show for nugus and not very well-known groups/soloists then? It may give some a chance, because if a group does wrong timing all the time, they may not be able to get a win still.
Take 9Muses for instance, they were together for like 9 years and not once did they get a win.

Have you ever heard of it? Most of the videos get less than 1000 views with few exceptions like in A.C.E's case, video quality seems quite bad even at 720p, also Teen Top's Chunji is a host. I don't think they even live stream, I assume ETN is a channel in Korea and it's broadcasted on there...

Red Velvet have been boycotting MCountdown ever the Bad Boy era. So that only leaves Music Bank, Music Core, Inkigayo, Show Champion and The Show to promote on.
