I love Android's freedom and not having to worry about Apple's practices. Also iPhones are very overpriced for their specs. They are very optimised so they work smooth. But some of my friends complained how updates are slowing down their old phones but I'm the type who keeps his phone for a long time so I wouldn't accept this kind of travesty. I have a MacBook for work but that's it.

I love my pretty iphone tho
and once you go ios you can't go back. I literally don't know how to work with android anymore.
also I drop my phone quite alot, yet I never broke a phone.

I hate the fact that it has no homescreen. It feels so cluttered looking at so many apps as soon as I open it up
And I dislike the font as well for some reason. And the fact that a lot of apps aren't compatible with iPhones.

well I out all apps in different folders and appearantly more changes are possible ( dark mode is introduced) with the new ios

I've had iPhones before and they both broke on me after a year or two so I got the same as my dad as it seemed good, which being Huawei p20 pro, and I still enjoy using it.

Apparently this is bit older thread, but anyways. I haven't ever used Iphone so I don't rly know how it's exactly, but i'm not that interested. The price point they start is just too high for my budget and I think it's bit inconvenient that they don't have android when all the other phones have it these days.

I have Nokia currently, before that I had Huawei, Samsung, even had Motorola at some point. I think how good the phone is kinda depends on model a lot and not so much on company, i have had issues with many of my phones but they are kinda different.

My current Nokia 6.1 is too stripped down and doesn't have good camera, in other hand it's rly pretty (blue and gold) and seems to be somewhat sturdy too. Huawei that i had, had poor battery that you couldn't change (i hate how new phones are like that, you can't change batteries yourself) and the screen was weak material- took scratches over nth, but otherwise worked rly well and good interface.

already bought an expensive macbook for school 3 years ago and I might enjoy an iPhone too, but at this point I'm trying to save money for school and trying to pay bills and groceries

I had an iPhone 7, it wasn't bad but since upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, I don't miss it anymore. However, there are a few things Apple does really well:

1. Premium hardware.
2. Best haptic feedback, I always have my phones on vibration mode and some Androids I use don't have a motor that strong for vibrations so I end up missing calls a lot of times, never happened on my iPhone.
3. Typing, this ties in with number 2. Due to the super accurate haptic feedback and the best onscreen keyboard, I never make typos on an iPhone. Weird I know lol.

Other than that, Androids offer so much more freedom and choice. I suspect lifetime Apple users will be surprised af when they move to an Android the first time and discover things that are possible on smartphones but they never knew Recently, with the removal of the headphone jack, Apple has killed all chances of me ever going back to an iPhone. Shame, coz they've priced the new iPhone 11 really attractively compared to other flagships and it's actually a pretty good phone, but once my Note 9 dies, I'll move to something like an Asus ROG Phone 2.

I've used iPhone (not the same phone ofc) personally for abt 9/10 yrs; when I first got it, I went from Nokia brick/slider phone to iPhone (don't remember if samsung notes were around then or if I seriously checked into it.)
I'm a stuck-in-my-ways guy when I think comes to my phone, I went fro I phone 4->5->6 in the last few years.
My iPhone 6 died after 1+ yrs of watching videos/constant charging n the screen/the the logic board died last year. So I understand where y'all comin' from abt IPhones vs android.
But I don't remember having the foreknowledge/educated choice in 2010/2011 when I switched from Nokia to a so-Calle did smartphone.
The apps in that time were more for iOS I think. It quickly changed but I dint know any better then, n I had the experience of liking the feel of the iPhone n how easy it was to use before I got mine.
Now I feel locked in even tho I've researched n gotten my mom a Samsung A20, I think for her to use when her old phone (a Samsung) ran out of memory n became unrechargeable (it got up to 100% but dropped very quickly like an hour after full charge). So I'm tempted to change but I'll lose most or all my apps if/when I do.
If only I knew the future when I first got an iPhone years ago I might hv made a different choice. (I was ok with Nokia/Siemens brick/slider phone for abt ten years before tat but the smartphone revolution was in the wind n I had to choose without complete knowledge/research)

TL:DR -some of us older ones are locked in n scared of change/loss of apps/dint know any different when I got iPhone abt 10 yrs ago.

My twin always gets the most expensive phones, which I've always been against. Because why 'brand' your tastes like that.
When a cheaper one does all the necessary things you need out of a phone anyways.

I am fine with my 200 plus dollar phone.
I am into the i products. Just not the phone. More the computer side of things.

I don’t have an iphone, but I have an ipod touch. Lasted me nearly four years so far, barely a scratch on it and survived two trips in the washing machine. I just have a cheap phone so that I have a mobile number, but honestly everywhere I go has free wifi available so I don’t need to be on a contract for any reason.

I prefer android apple is overrated....
I don’t know why people buy the latest version of a phone if there old one is 100% fine. Only difference is size or battery or something. Is it just greed or pride? I don’t get it. My old phone was $1000 something and then next year it wasn’t even worth half of that. If your phone does what you want and is working why get a new one just because of pride and greed.
